I have recently watched the first part of the 'Godfather' trilogy....I have seen this more than a few times.
Each time you watch it you see and understand things not previously realised.
My take away from this time is when Michael (the favourite son of Don Corleone and an army veteran who never wanted any part in the families business sees an opportunity to not only step in but take over in the most dramatic way by having all the other bosses Killed.
There was an attempt on his father's life as he was buying vegetables at a market and as his father was lying in hospital, this was the moment Michael realised his next move.
The seen for was when Michael was asked to be godfather to a family member ..The filmed flicked back and forth from the baptism in the church to scenes of killing of a boss, back to the baptism, back to another brutal killing of a boss ...as Micheal stood their in the church you realise he
wasn't just at a baptism for a child who he would be godfather to but this was a baptism for Michael himself becoming the 'Godfather'

Today I am thinking about the passage of time. For me it's the continuous movement and progression of tiny moments all added together, from past to present and onto future. It encompasses the idea that time cannot be stopped.
Once a year we mark our passage of time in numbers. Today my passage of time has increased to the number 57...

Did you know that the map of the world that most of us know is drawn completely unproportionally.
The true sizes of countries are misrepresented.
As an example, here is (coloured in blue) the true size of Nigeria overlapped on Northern Europe.

At 21.15 hrs here in the UK the sky should be very dark..... This is not the sun but the Sturgeon Blue Supermoon lighting up the sky.... If you look to the left, you will see a tiny dot.. That is Saturn.... I took this photo from my bedroom window.
What a joy to see..

It's called the 'Sturgeon Moon' (Blue Supermoon)
Best seen just after it rises....
It's called a Bluemoon but it is actually not Blue...The Blue bit oddly refers to the fact it is the 3rd of 4 full moons happening this season.
The 'Super' bit refers to the moons being it's closest to earth on its orbit....So a 'Super Blue Moon' which this is tonight is actually quite rare...Next one is gonna be around January 2037....
It is quite a sight to behold......

A glimmer of hope across the United States..
Standing aside for the good of the Country...
Giving up your seat for someone on the bus
Small gesture or a big gesture
Sometimes you have to know it's the right thing to do

There is a glimmer of hope in my country once again as we wake up to hopefully a very positive change..

The Summer Solstice....
For those in the southern hemisphere it is your shortest day... The Winter solstice..
And so too is it your longest night and our shortest night
Look up at the sun and be grateful for this life giver...

As the sun was showing it's face this morning, a large group of crows flew over head... They were deafening... It was a lovely sight.
When many crows are together they call it a 'murder' of crows.
They also say crows can hold a grudge and may also recognise individual faces...
