• Do Not Be Afraid

..an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream. Joseph, son of David, the angel said, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife. For the child within her was conceived by the Holy Spirit.
    (Matthew 1:20, NLT)

Have you ever felt overwhelmed or even afraid of what God has called you to do? Maybe you were pursuing a dream or goal, and things didn’t turn out the way you planned. Joseph had planned to take Mary as his wife, but when he found out she was pregnant, he didn’t know what to think. He was afraid that he might be making a mistake because things didn’t turn out the way he planned, but God sent an angel in a dream to reassure Joseph that he was on the right path.

Today let me reassure you that God knows right where you are, and He knows how to get you where you need to be. Even when things don’t go the way you planned, His hand is on you. Do not be afraid. Trust that God is working behind the scenes on your behalf, and He will lead you into the life of blessing that He has prepared for you.

Father, I choose to trust in You. Even when things don\t go the way I\ve planned, I know that You are at work in my life. Thank You for leading me forward in Your plan for me in Jesus\ name. Amen.

  • A Voice Of Praise

Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits (Psalm 103:2)

The popular saying that “a person who knows how to show appreciation for a previous favour will receive another”, instructively guides us into our discussion today. It is doubtful if there is any culture the world over where good gestures are not appreciated. And there is no individual anywhere who does not understand what it means to express gratitude for favours and kindness received from a benefactor.

David, the great psalmist, here calls our attention to who and what God is, His attributes and actions; who and what we are in the light of His omnipotence and lavished blessings upon us. It is not unlikely that we often take all that we are enjoying for granted and never meditate on the source of our blessings and favour. How often do we praise God in appreciation of His goodness?

The passage outlines the attributes of God as they touch on human frailty and our need of divine power to survive the challenges of our world. God is righteous and just, merciful and gracious, loving and faithful. He forgives our sins, heals our diseases, protects us from death, surrounds us with tender mercies and satisfies us with the good things of life. What a good God we have!

We are challenged never to forget all His benefits. In our daily activities, the hustling and bustling of our cities and engagements in Christian service, we must always remember to praise God for all the wonderful blessings and mercies we receive from Him.

A gush of gratitude to God provokes further blessings from Him.

  • He is Coming Back

Keep a sharp lookout! For you do not know when I will come... Watch for my return!
    - Mark 13:35,36 (TLB)

The great Dwight L. Moody used to say, “I never preached a sermon without thinking that possibly the Lord may come before I preach another.” Dr. G. Campbell Morgan, the distinguished British clergy-man, said, “I never begin my work in the morning without thinking that perhaps he may interrupt my work and begin His own. I am not looking for death. I am looking for Him.” That is the way a Christian should live his life – in the constant anticipation of the return of Jesus Christ! If we could live every day as though it may be the very last one before the final judgment, what a difference it would make here on earth! But we don’t like to think that way. We don’t like to think that our carefully made plans, our long range schemes may be interrupted by the trumpet of God. Too many people would rather say, “Oh, well, the end of the world hasn’t come yet, so why think about it – it’s probably a thousand years away.”

Today might be the last day when Jesus returns. Cleanse me, Father

  • Pave the Way for Victory

In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly. (Psalm 5:3, NIV)

Did you know that every morning you have the opportunity to set the tone for your whole day? When you put God first and decide to go out with a grateful attitude and a positive frame of mind, not only will you feel better, but you’re going to draw in the good things of God. You are paving the way for success and victory. But if you get up thinking, "Man, life’s a drag. Nothing good ever happens to me. It’s going to be a lousy day," then you are going to attract defeat, failure and mediocrity.

Today, choose to set your day in the right direction. Find something to thank God for. If you have to, make a list of all the good things in your life and post it on your bathroom mirror. As you continually choose to set your mind on Him first thing in the morning, you’ll pave the way to victory and enjoy the good things He has in store for you!

Father, thank You for the gift of today. I choose to set my mind on You. Thank You for Your goodness and mercy and for always preparing the way for victory in Jesus name! Amen.

  • 1Pet.3.9 - Never return evil for evil or insult for insult (scolding, tongue-lashing, berating), but on the contrary blessing [praying for their welfare, happiness, and protection, and truly pitying and loving them]. For know that to this you have been called, that you may yourselves inherit a blessing [from God - that you may obtain a blessing as heirs, bringing welfare and happiness and protection]. [AMP]

That goes for all of you, no exceptions. No retaliation. No sharp-tongued sarcasm. Instead, bless--that's your job, to bless. You'll be a blessing and also get a blessing. [MSB]

Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult, but with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing. [NIV]

Don't repay evil for evil. Don't retaliate when people say unkind things about you. Instead, pay them back with a blessing. That is what God wants you to do, and he will bless you for it. [NLT]

not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary blessing, knowing that you were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing. [NKJV]

  • A Simple Message

As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love. John 15:9

The great Swiss theologian, Dr. Karl Barth, was probably in his generation the greatest theologian in the world, and a great philosopher as well. I did not always agree with him, but he was my friend and I respected him. While he was in this country, a student at one of the seminaries said, “Dr. Barth, what is the greatest truth that ever crossed your mind?” All the seminary students were sitting on the edge of their seats to hear some great, profound, deep, complicated answer. Dr. Barth slowly raised his great shaggy gray head and looked at the student and said, “Jesus loves me, this I know, for the Bible tells me so.”

Lord Jesus, may I always keep the knowledge of Your love in true simplicity unencumbered by much learning. Thank You for loving me

  • THE GOD FACTOR IN SUCCESS

I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: For without me you can do nothing. John 15:5

No branch survives without the vine. A branch that is cut off may maintain its greenness for a while but it is dead from the moment it is cut off.

God never said, “Without me you can do some things” but, “You can do nothing.”

Without Him we cannot succeed but with Him we can do all things (Philippians. 4:13).

If you want to know the helplessness of a branch cut it off from the vine. Likewise, if you want to know the nakedness of a man cut him off from God.

Only those who cleave to the Lord remain alive (Deuteronomy 4:4).

Accomplishment is only possible through permanent relationship with God.
