    And David said, what have I now done? Is there not a cause? 1st Samuel 17:29

    In today’s Bible reading, we see what seems to be a subtle undertone in Eliab’s unprovoked anger against David. Let’s take a closer look at what was actually going on. David happened on the battle scene by accident, because he was only there on an errand to deliver his father’s message to his brothers and the captain of their unit. It is therefore interesting that David was able to identify his mission in the midst of an affair which appeared to be none of his business. He found his purpose in a remote and indirect call to duty. This is a very good example of how the purpose of God becomes manifest in a person’s life. Despite the fact that Eliab railed accusations of pride and naughtiness of heart against David, he did not deny them or defend himself; he only asked his rhetorical question: “Is there not a cause?” A cause is a very important element of purpose, which usually develops into a passion for an objective, making it worth dying for. David so quickly reached the conclusion that confronting Goliath was a cause he was prepared to die for (1st Samuel 17:32).

    Looking at the sequence of events in this story, I have a feeling that David was acting under the influence of a power that was far beyond his control. I sincerely believe that he was very conscious of this fact, and he yield himself to the control of the awesome power of God. The power that moved Samson to tear up a lion with his bare hand. I pray that you will receive that power now in the Name of Jesus. David did not only discover his assignment, he also quickly identified with the One who predetermined the whole process. Let’s consider a few of the steps taken by David. First of all, He ignored and discarded all forms of discouragement that came his way through his brother, Eliab, and through King Saul (1st Samuel 17:28 & 33). In addition, he testified and boasted in the Lord of all the wonderful things God had accomplished in his life (1st Samuel 17:34-37). Furthermore, being sure of God’s support, he refused to rely on human technology (1st Samuel 17:39). Beyond all this, he went ahead to identify with God by presenting himself as an emissary of the Lord of hosts. 1st Samuel 17:45 says:

    “Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel. Whom thou hast defied.”

    Are you pursuing a cause? Are you a man or a woman with a purpose? If you are ready to identify with the Lord of hosts and employ the same strategy David used, success will be yours.

    Father, I dont want to wander through life without a mission; guide me to the cause in life which You have created and equipped me for, in Jesus Name.

    Remember the Kodak company? In 1997, Kodak had about 160,000 employees.
    And about 85% of the world's photography was done with Kodak cameras. With the rise of mobile cameras over the past few years, Kodak Camera Company is out of the market. Even Kodak went completely bankrupt and all his employees were fired.

    At the same time many more famous companies had to stop themselves. Like

    HMT (clock)
    BAJAJ (स्कूटर)
    DYANORA (TV)
    MURPHY (RADIO)
    NOKIA (Mobile)
    RAJDOOT (Bike)
    Ambassador (car)

    None of the above companies had bad quality. Why are these companies out yet? Because they could not change themselves over time.

    Standing in the present moment you probably don't think how much the world could change in the next 10 years! And today's 70%-90% jobs will be completely over in the next 10 years. We are slowly entering the era of "Fourth Industrial Revolution".

    Check out today's famous companies-

    UBER is just a software name. No, they have no cars of their own. Yet today the world's largest taxi-fair company is UBER.

    Airbnb is the largest hotel company in the world today. But funny thing is they don't own a single hotel in the world.

    Similarly, examples of countless companies like Paytm, Ola Cab, Oyo rooms etc can be given.

    The definition of money is also changing. There used to be cash but in today's age it has become "plastic money". Credit card and debit card round was a few days ago. Now that too is changing and the era of mobile wallet is coming. Growing market of Paytm, one click of mobile money.

    What this means is that those who work hard to remain relevant will undoubtedly never be removed. Learn from the mistakes of all these major companies by keeping yourself well positioned in the booming business like the TGR telecom through leverage

    DATE: MONDAY SEPTEMBER 16TH 2024

    TOPIC: DON'T TRY TO OUTRUN GOD

    MEMORISE:
    “A faithful man shall abound with blessings: but he that maketh haste to be rich shall not be innocent.” - (Proverbs 28:20)

    READ: ECCLESIASTES 3:1-11 (KJV)

    1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:

    2 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;

    3 A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;

    4 A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;

    5 A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;

    6 A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;

    7 A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;

    8 A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

    9 What profit hath he that worketh in that wherein he laboureth?

    10 I have seen the travail, which God hath given to the sons of men to be exercised in it.

    11 He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.

    MESSAGE:
    God makes everything beautiful in His time (Ecclesiastes 3:11). The pursuit of the vanities of this world has robbed many people of far greater and better blessings from God. It is not bad to want to achieve something great or pursue a good cause, but if you try to outrun God, you may never achieve that goal, and worse still, you may pay for it with something very precious to you. God knows your desires; in fact, it is likely that He is the one who put them there. He knows the best times and the best ways for those desires to be accomplished, so, don’t try to act smarter than the One who made your brain.

    Years ago, I was duped by a man who promised to make me a commandant of a paramilitary group. This man had been sending messages to me through my secretary for a while, and so, one day, I gave him audience. He explained to me how a Boy-Scouts-like group had evolved into this new agency, and that he was sourcing for who would lead the group spiritually. Normally, I ask God before getting involved in anything at all, but this time, my love for the military in my younger days beclouded my best instincts, and I agreed to be their head. He told me that they needed some funding, which I gave as the prospective head. However, I later found out that the man was a fake. My desire to be part of a paramilitary group made me run ahead of God, but God had already purposed for Redemption City to have its own corps of chaplains as well as a local Police post. He knew the desire of my heart, and He had planned for it to be fulfilled in His own time. I thought that I could bring my desire to fulfilment at my own time, but I was wrong. What I lost in that experience was money, but for someone else, it might have been their life or a loved one.

    The Bible makes it clear that God delights in our well-being and prosperity (Psalm 35:27), (3 John 1:2). Therefore, it is not wrong to desire wealth. He will definitely make you prosper, but in His own time. Beloved, follow God’s timing; don’t try to outrun Him.

    KEY POINT:
    Don't try to outrun God so that you will not lose far more than what you set out to gain.

    AUTHOR PASTOR E A ADEBOYE

    HYMNAL: 21 - STANDING ON THE PROMISES OF CHRIST MY KING

    1 Standing on the promises of Christ my King,
    Through eternal ages let His praises ring,
    Glory in the highest, I will shout and sing,
    Standing on the promises of God.

    Refrain:
    Standing, standing,
    Standing on the promises of God my Savior;
    Standing, standing,
    I’m standing on the promises of God.
    Standing on the promises that cannot fail,
    When the howling storms of doubt and fear assail,
    By the living Word of God I shall prevail,
    Standing on the promises of God.

    2 Standing on the promises I now can see
    Perfect, present cleansing in the blood for me;
    Standing in the liberty where Christ makes free,
    Standing on the promises of God.

    3 Standing on the promises of Christ the Lord,
    Bound to Him eternally by love’s strong cord,
    Overcoming daily with the Spirit’s sword,
    Standing on the promises of God.

    4 Standing on the promises I cannot fall,
    List’ning every moment to the Spirit’s call,
    Resting in my Savior as my all in all,
    Standing on the promises of God

  • Paradigm Shift: Rethinking Riches and Health

    Did you know that organic food in Africa is often cheaper than fast food, a Western import? Meanwhile, in the West, Organic options most times are more expensive than fast food. Yet, we crave the very foods that contribute to illnesses and diseases plaguing our world.

    My own journey across the globe has seen a shift from excitement over Nando's and Starbucks to preferring humble mamak stores. I've traded KFC in Dubai for organic eats in hidden gems.

    In Africa, you can plant organic food without a license, while in some Western places, you still need permission to grow your own. What we enjoy for a fraction of the cost in Africa is a luxury in the West.

    What we enjoy in Africa for a dime is a fortune in the west. You are rich with a little in Africa but Poor with so much in the West.

    This made me question: what does being rich or poor truly mean? Is it about abundance or scarcity? Let's redefine our values and prioritize health, community, and the environment.

    THEME: BLESSED BEYOND CURSES

    MEMORISE:
    Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: EPHESIANS 1:3

    READ: NUMBERS 23:5-8:
    5 And the Lord put a word in Balaam’s mouth, and said, Return unto Balak, and thus thou shalt speak.
    6 And he returned unto him, and, lo, he stood by his burnt sacrifice, he, and all the princes of Moab.
    7 And he took up his parable, and said, Balak the king of Moab hath brought me from Aram, out of the mountains of the east, saying, Come, curse me Jacob, and come, defy Israel.
    8 How shall I curse, whom God hath not cursed? or how shall I defy, whom the Lord hath not defied?

    MESSAGE:
    "How shall I curse, whom God hath not cursed? or how shall I defy, whom the LORD hath not defied?" Numbers 23:8

    The Scripture above tells us that it is impossible to curse people that have been blessed by God. Such persons can never be affected by curses that are pronounced on them.

    No matter how hard he tries, there is absolutely nothing the devil can do to curse the fellow that God has blessed. Romans 8:31 says:

    "What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?"

    God is Almighty; if He is on your side, there is no force on the earth, underneath the earth, or in any other place that can work against you.

    The Bible says that you have been bought with a price 1 Corinthians 6:20 and that price is the blood of Jesus.

    This means that no one can touch you because you are God’s possession. Through the sacrifice of the blood of Jesus flowing inside you, you are irreversibly blessed.

    God has blessed you with all heavenly blessings, and there is no man that can curse you!

    Numbers 23:23 says: "Surely there is no enchantment against Jacob, neither is there any divination against Israel: according to this time it shall be said of Jacob and of Israel, What hath God wrought!"

    In Proverbs 26:2, you are reassured that: "As the bird by wandering, as the swallow by flying, so the curse causeless shall not come."

    If someone decides to curse you without a genuine cause, do not be moved and do not be afraid.

    Goliath cursed David and, in a few minutes, his head was in David’s hands. In fact, any fellow who tries to curse you needs your prayers because God’s word says in Genesis 12:3: "And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: …"

    What is that genuine cause that can make a curse active even on a believer? It is sin.

    After Balaam could not curse the people of Israel because they were blessed, they were tricked into sleeping with strange women, and before they knew it, they were cursed with diseases.

    If you want to be blessed beyond curses, after surrendering your life to Jesus, you must ensure that you live holy.

    A life without Jesus does not have protection against any curse. As long as you remain a child of God, you are untouchable to curses.

    KEY POINT:
    Surrender your life to Jesus and live holy to ensure that you are blessed beyond curses.

    BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: JEREMIAH 31-32

    HYMN 19: ROCK OF AGES CLEFT FOR ME

    1 Rock of Ages, cleft for me,
    Let me hide myself in Thee! Let the water and the blood,
    From Thy riven side which flowed,
    Be of sin the double cure; Cleanse me from its guilt and power.

    2 Not the labours of my hands,
    Can fulfill thy law's demands
    Could my zeal no respite know,
    Could my tears forever flow,
    All for sin could not atone, Thou must save and thou alone.

    3 Nothing in my hand I bring,
    Simply to thy cross I cling Naked, come to thee for dress,
    Helpless, look to thee for grace
    Foul, I to the fountain fly Wash me saviour or I die.

    4 While I draw this fleeting breath,
    When my eyelids close in death,
    When I soar to worlds unknown,
    See thee on thy judgment throne,
    Rock of ages cleft for me, Let me hide myself in thee.

Numbers 23:8 The Scripture above tells us that it is impossible to curse people that have been blessed by God. Such persons can never be affected by curses that are pronounced on them. No matter how hard he tries, there is absolutely nothing the devil can do to curse the fellow that God has blessed. Romans 8:31 says: "What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?" God is Almighty; if He is on your side, there is no force on the earth, underneath the earth, or in any other place that can work against you. Numbers 23:23 says: "Surely there is no enchantment against Jacob, neither is there any divination against Israel: according to this time it shall be said of Jacob and of Israel, What hath God wrought!" In Proverbs 26:2, you are reassured that: "As the bird by wandering, as the swallow by flying, so the curse causeless shall not come." If someone decides to curse you without a genuine cause, do not be moved and do not be afraid. Goliath cursed David and, in a few minutes, his head was in David’s hands. In fact, any fellow who tries to curse you needs your prayers because God’s word says in Genesis 12:3: "And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: …" What is that genuine cause that can make a curse active even on a believer? KEY POINT: Surrender your life to Jesus and live holy to ensure that you are blessed beyond curses. BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: JEREMIAH 31-32 HYMN 19: ROCK OF AGES CLEFT FOR ME 1 Rock of Ages, cleft for me, Let me hide myself in Thee! Let the water and the blood, From Thy riven side which flowed, Be of sin the double cure; Cleanse me from its guilt and power. 2 Not the labours of my hands, Can fulfill thy law's demands Could my zeal no respite know, Could my tears forever flow, All for sin could not atone, Thou must save and thou alone. 3 Nothing in my hand I bring, Simply to thy cross I cling Naked, come to thee for dress, Helpless, look to thee for grace Foul, I to the fountain fly Wash me saviour or I die. 4 While I draw this fleeting breath, When my eyelids close in death, When I soar to worlds unknown, See thee on thy judgment throne, Rock of ages cleft for me, Let me hide myself in thee.

  • Hello everyone,

    I'm pleased to announce that those who were unable to log into Itakun after the Cowrium Mad-O Ecosystem Server decentralization can now do so.

    During the complex process a few months ago, we encountered some technical issues that led to the unfortunate situation. However, the system is now fully operational, although a few pictures might still be missing.

    This decentralization of the Cowrium Mad-O SERVER is unprecedented and deserves commendation. A major advantage is that it will prevent unforeseen shutdowns like the recent global system outage by Microsoft.

    Let's log into our accounts now to connect, share, network, and earn as we socialize. If you haven't registered on Itakun yet, please sign up today by visiting itakun.net or download our app on the Play Store - Itakun Lite.
